I would suggest using the chambray and red checked fabrics to border around each of these adorable blocks in a Log Cabin pattern. On the red/ white blocks, use blue chambray or solid white, followed by a round of the opposite color combination. The strips need not be more than a half or 3/4-inch each, as each round is going to widen the blocks. Maybe, one round each of 3/4-inch (finished) would not detract too much. She was at our Quilt group, Gems of the Prairie Quilters, twice in the past 3 years and she helped those attending her lectures so much. She has written books on just this subject.
