Finally finished this for DD. Did 2 of the same lapquilts, except the borders were different. The red border is so busy, it took me forever to decide on what FMQ pattern I should try out. I finally decided that you probably weren't going to see the design anyway, so just practice away.
I traced the rose from a FMQ book and make a template. Then traced around the template with chalk pencil. While I was doing it, I wasn't really liking my skill level, but when I let it sit for a few days and went back to it, it looked a lot better! Love it when that happens.
