I use cotton/cotton for piecing and cotton/poly, poly/poly/ metallic/poly for quilting. Check out Superior.com and look under the "education" tab, Dr. Bob will tell you everything you need to know about thread!!! I use mostly Superior threads, they do cost a bit more, but the quality is, well, superior!!
