I have made quilts for a local walk with me for a cure for the last 3 years. The first year it was a pink ribbon quilt. The next year I used fabric for the cause that had pink in it, but anyone could use it. The one for this year was a heart design using pink fabrics because I couldn't find any "cause" fabric that I liked. The point is that the first year breast cancer was THE center of the walk but as we've moved away from the initial shock, we all have wanted a gentle reminder of why we are doing it but not so in your face. We've learned to laugh about it as well as cry. I like the ladies!
