If you look at all the blocks you can tell it is intentionally wonky. I found the answer! In her binder of patterns and notes (that I completely forgot about), it has a drawing of the quilt. No border! She was planning to "wonky stitch in the ditch". I think I will just put on the back do a wavy almost stitch in the ditch. I feel so much better.
