I was actually starting to take better care of myself. I had lost 90 pounds, had quit eating fried foods, eating healthier, quit drinking alcohol as much. I had my cholesterol checked 2 months before my heart attack and it was improved from the year before. It was normal but in the high normal range. I still smoked though. My cardiologist felt that it was a fluke that it happened to me, just a piece of plaque broke off the wall of my artery and blocked it.
