Ya know, a lot of ppl are afraid of change. We are getting a lot of the same thing but in a different way at school. My cousin is PTO president, and this is his first year. A lot of us are new to the PTO, and we want different things that are going to bring in more money. PPL don't want the same thing every year!! And the ppl that have been members of the PTO for a while don't seem to want change! If we bring up new ideas, they don't want to do it!
BUT....we wanted to introduce silent auctions this year to the Fall Festival (our largest fundraiser of the year) with items that local businesses donated....for years they have put out brown, paper bags that ppl put tickets in with their names on. They purchase these for a quarter. And the total FF has been bringing in (with sales from all the hot dogs, baked goods, games, cake walks, raffles...etc) $800-$900....Well, this year we made about $2000.00! We brought in almost as much money from the silent auctions alone as the entire FF has been doing in the past few years, and WE'RE ALMOST ALL NEW TO WHAT IS GOING ON!

To prove my point, change can be such a good thing!!!!!!!!!!! PPL get tired of the same old shtuff year after year!
