Yes, it is day 1. On the Chantix, you have meds you take every day increasing the dosage until you are at the max. The Chantix replaces the "pleasure" emotion in your brain that you get from smoking. It will take a week to get into my system. I can smoke during this time IF the urge hits - but by day 8 I'm not to smoke at all. Today - been up since 7:30am, its 12:45pm now and I've only had 3. That's not bad for me.
