A similar thing happened to me with Horn cabinets a few years ago. They arrive shrink wrapped, and the driver insisted he was not supposed to un-shrink wrap them. I refused to sign the delivery papers until everything was unwrapped and inspected. DH chatted with him while I removed the shrink wrap. Sure enough - a cabinet had a broken drawer that kept the rest of the drawers from opening - and the shrink wrap was all that was holding it together.
The driver called his dispatcher to find out what he should do - and I called Horn to find out what I should do. Both said we should make a detailed note on the delivery paper about the damage, & that I could keep the cabinet OR send it back with the driver. I kept it. Horn said they would immediately send a replacement cabinet - and they did a few days later.
DH repaired the broken cabinet to an almost-good-as-new state!
