I used elastic. It is sandwiched, QAYG, and yep there's batting. It was really very easy. And no didn't even think of taking pictures but it is easy enough to explain. I just wanted to cover my chair and I didn't want just stipes. I'll type up directions if you want, the hardest part was the elastic in the binding, but you could use a draw string of some sort. But didn't want my kitty under my chair all day.
