Finally a culture showed it was a yeast infection in his ears. The treatment: (are you ready?) Monistat vaginal yeast cream!! Yep, got it at Walmart and used it in his ears for 7 days and they cleared right up. Don't use this unless you get it cultured but it's worth mentioning to your vet. Good luck!

I have had cockers for years, and usually it is a yeast infection for this bread... i had a beautiful black gal, and had to end up doing anear surg. that widened the ear canals for her. Monistat is what the vet had me use for her too!!! My friend, who is a cocker breeder uses the as well.... one of my "girls" use to let me put her ears up with a clip and never bothered to shake it off!! another way is to use a nylon stocking cut it at the to of the leg and above the knee, and make a sorta headband to hold the ears back... this helps airing them too :wink:
