Can you expand on your comment about precutting JN's pieces and the problems you experienced with the curves? I am hoping to do her Double Wedding Rings with flowered border. How did her papers warp?

Many thanks for any additional advice...

Examples of issues. She says you need 10 1/2 yards for backing and binding for a 106 by 118 quilt. That cuts your LA very tight and doesnt allow anything for shrinkage or for salvages or for a crooked cut off of the bolt. Luckily I bought extra.

She never gives you the finished block size so when my paper warped I had no idea how big my finished block was supposesd to be. Realize each block has about 100 pieces each so the paper just did not hold that she had it printed on....it literally came apart in my hands. I ended up photocopying it onto tear away.

Another place, the instructions were not good with the curved piecing. I cut a bunch of stuff according to the directions and it was just not working for me and I have made four curved pieced quilts with no problems. I WOULD NOT EVER precut again with one of her patterns.

I have done one in the Garden Series, it was fine. I did Autumn splendor and that was fine. I did Cactus something and that was fine. I have Rain Drops in my to do stash.

They are beautiful and I am thinking about the Glacier Star but after the problems with this Bali Star I need a break.
