sorry about your dogs ear problems. I didn't know that there are alot of us with this same problem. We have Shar-Pei and the same ear problems. Cleaning ears at 3am isn't fun.
We changed Vets and the new vet said maybe they had a ball of dried wax way down in the ear canel. So she told us to use Douxo ear wash by Sogeval you have to buy it at Vet and it's $22. for a bottle. You fill the ear with wash and rub base of ear like milking a cow. then let dog shake and wipe with cotton ball. Well gobs of junk came out of the ears. and now we just have to wipe the ears about every 2 days. So this might be a help.
also our little girl is just chewing herself up along with the ears. We will have to give the "Wild Salmon food " a try and see if that helps. Right now we are using the Wild fowl" Thanks kjym Kathy
