You did fantastic! I am about to finish my first large (queen +) size on my machine and went through the same stages you did. If I get up the nerve I'll post pictures of mine when I'm done. I started in the middle and it was awful trying to move all that material around on my standard size machine. I ripped out and resewed a lot. But I'm not one to give up so I kept at it and am now nearly done. Far from perfect, but I call it my practice quilt. I question if it's possible to do that large a quilt perfectly on a standard machine. And I tend to get carried away with trying maybe too many designs. Oh well! Keep reminding myself it's fun. :lol: I do have fun FMQ, especially when it's going well. Look forward to seeing your progress pictures.
