Finally finished my quilting Godmother - what a blast it was. I must tell you my family is quite different - the first pic I am posting is my REAL Godmother - funny knitting photo I must say, and her personality went along with just what the photo portrays. As I started "Stitchzilla" by making a paper copy to color in for ideas of fabrics, she started developing her own character. It also helped that I had just finished listening to the book "THE HELP" - which is why Stitchzilla has somewhat of an African / American look. Stitchzilla loves blue, so chose the multi blue backround, her best (and only ) dress is red, so that was easy. As for her violet eyes; she always envisoned herself as the next Liz Taylor! My quilting Godmother and I love the look of the Quilts of Gees Bend, so we tried to get that look in the border. Hope you like her -
