I've started collecting my smaller stuff for string quilts, and am using pretty much anything larger than 1/2" (since my 1/4" seams are very scant at times). Biggest consideration is what to do with it - pattern/shape.
Anything smaller becomes stuffing for pads for cats/dogs at our local animal shelter.
