I made these wallhangings using the method presented by Brenda Henning...The book is called "New Classics". It is really not all that complicated and the look is fantastic. You trace the pieces onto steam a seam, iron onto the fabric you want and then iron to black backing. The leading is actually the fabric from the backing showing through. Then I FMQ around the pieces and filled in with either details or meandering. I'll take a closer picture and add it to this. Brenda Henning has many pattern books using this method. If you have always wanted to do this, this is the easy way to do it. Oh, and the fabrics were purchased off of ebay. I found a shop that sold Hoffman 1895 Batiks by the fat quarter for a reasonable price and bought the ones Brenda recommends. I have enough for at least 3 or 4 more sets of these....and I still have one of poppies to finish. But, you could always improvise with fabrics from your own stash
