$700 will buy a lot of modern sewing machine won't it? Why does it have to be old? My mom has two, but I know she got them at yard sales.
I'm one of those who don't respect an antique just because it's an antique. Many antiques around here are just junk--the people just put them in their attic or basement instead of pitching them in the garbage. Then, they think they are somehow worth a lot--when they aren't.
but how much do featherweights bring? I thought the most expensive would be a few hundred...not closer to $1000 than $300! What do they cost? What are people paying?
I say paint it any color you want if you if it is yours!
