Not rambling at all Izy, that is how I work things through too. I am wondering if you were careful if placinga square in after turning it, if the cross (X) would hold it into place? Maybe the curved seams would take care of the ends ?? I think maybe a placemat sized trial is in order here. Then I could wash it to see what happens.
