We have a $5 quilt block every month at our LQS so you just go by and get your block each month with the instructions. After the designated # of months. You have sewn all your blocks for the quilt and then you put it all together to make your quilt top. It doesn't take long to do each block and you can take your finished block to the LQS each time to show and tell when you pick up your next block pattern and fabric. Then you have instructions for th future to make another quilt in another color scheme. I love BOMs because you can work on different projects and at the end of the time, you have make all the blocks for a specific quilt and didn't have to coordinate any of the fabrics. It is all done for you! Love it!!!!
