Our LQS did a BOM two years ago - we paid five dollars and one Saturday per month we took in our finished block, picked up our new one, and repeated - 12 blocks for five dollars. IF by some chance we could not make it we had to pay five dollars again - BUT we were allowed one break or a friend could take our block in. Each month for five dollars we could choose to do a bonus block - thus for $65 we had enough blocks for a HUGE quilt (24 12" blocks) or for just $5 we had enough for a nice queen size if sashing/borders were used. Now, there are several of us online (FB) who are doing a BOM together. This year I have been able to choose the blocks - I post them the first of the month then we post pics as we do them... it's fun
