I am a huge fan of Creative Grids rulers. I like all of their rulers. I would invest in a 60º, pyramid ruler for triangles and even hexagon blocks. A 12" square ruler is helpful for squaring up blocks up to that size.
I agree use, and suggest to my pupils to start off with a Creative Grids 6.5" x 12.5" a year later they still found they don't need another ruler although they do borrow my 6.5" n 15.5" squares quite a lot :twisted:
