Yes, I remember too. We lived about 10 miles or so from a little neightoring town that had a carbon plant and when the line was wiped down, the "rag" would just be black from the carbon. Don't have a clothes line now, but sure wish I did. Wouldn't want to hang out all laundry, just few things.
