I have a 1/4 acre garden. We put out potatoes every year. Get potatoes that have lots of 'eyes'. I cut them apart so there is one 'eye' per piece. Plant shallow and cover as you go is the directions from DH. Plant so the 'eye' is up towards the sky. Plant about 6 inches apart. DH puts a little 'mound' of dirt along the row with the potatoes 6 inches apart. We've planted baby reds, and white potatoes. Don't care for the taste of yukon gold. You'll notice little 'flowers'. That's a good sign. Wherever there is a flower you should have a spud. PS He plants by the Farmer's Almanac. Cheryl
