I sort laundry according to lights and darks. I do not put a brand new red anything with a white the first time. Even if I wash the new red witha reds I still use the color catchers.
I have washed my quilts after they are quilted, (I don't pre-wash) using the color catchers, and I have not had pinks in my quilts instead of lights.
I think I will still use them.
