I throw a wrung out wet tea towel in the dryer with mine and it works pretty good. I never pre wash my batting but I do put it in the dryer to relax it. I do my polyester clothing that way too. The only thing my iron touches usually is my quilting projects. I did enough ironing when I was young and everything was made of cotton.
