I am posting this because pgthom wanted to see a picture as she has a large collection of ties. I don't use a pattern for these, just start cutting and sewing. I put a piece of white paper behind the flap so it would show up in the picture and like the look, think I will add a trim of some kind. I have made the strap out of several things, this one is the bottom part of the tie, but I have used D rings and contrasting fabric, detachable leather straps off old purses, beads, anything really.
PGthom, hope you like...PS wish you could see the fabric on this. It is a Italian silk handpainted tie and is in really beautiful fall colors. I take pictures with my phone so the colors don't show up real good.
