I have a Babylock Quest. It's been having an issue lately with skipping stitches. I changed the needle, made sure it was in tight, re-threaded, redid the bobbin, redid the presser foot and after reading the trouble shooting page in the manual-I increased the pressure on the presser foot.

I'm sewing in strips now so keep checking...and there was still a skipped stitch every 30" or so. Often two close together.

Unacceptable.

I played with the presser foot pressure and the results were inconsistent--just more or less skipped stitches.

I had switched to some Mettler metrosene Plus polyester thread...desperationparation I switched back to my usual polyester Guttermann. Just sewed some strips together and THERE'S NOT ONE SKIPPED STITCH.

It was the thread!

Huh.

Back to sewing.
