Plain wood? if you're handy with a saw you could get you a couple diff types
of wood say oak/walnut (maybe some scraps at local lumber yard) and do
yourself a "quilt" top for it ;) ;)
Lay a base of plywood down and then glue your "pieces" to the base. Then finish with poly
