Mahine quilting is easier now than ever before! I buy a roll of golden paper (very thin and easy to trace with also tears off your quilt very easily) Oh, and if a doctor will let you have a roll of the paper they cover the exam table with that is excellent too!. I can trace from colloring books, quilt pattern books, applique patterns, and then just pin the paper on your quilt where you want the design.
You can just slowly (free Motion) go over your design and bingo it is done and tear off the paper. Don't do like I did the first few time I tried and used a heaver paper, I like to have never got it all off. So good luck! Try your hand. I downloaded some western designs from a free coloring page site and had great quiltng all over the quilt
that was in fact western and for a cowboy. He absolutely loved it.
