Here's what at least slowed me down: I got all my fabric out of the containers they were in, and started piling them up on shelves. When I finished filling one set of shelves, I emptied a bookshelf, and kept going. I still have several plastic containers full of fabric, but when I go into my sewing area, and see all that fabric on the shelf & bookshelf, it really does help me see the big picture. I DON'T need anymore fabric!!! (Now, having said that, I just got confirmation that my latest order just shipped from Over the Rainbow Quilt Shop!! - over $70!) But I really don't buy nearly as much as I used to, now that I can actually SEE how much I already have.
Storing my fabric so that it is visible is exactly what I did a couple of months ago--I have my fabric visible in my sewing room and everytime I go in there I get new resolve not to add to my stash! If the fabric is visible it sure helps.
