Evidently there was a problem with some of the ones people got that were maybe not scaled correctly, so she sent out a different format. Maybe you need to get one of the revised patterns. The one I got worked fine, and believe me, I'm no pp pro.
I'm one of the ones who had to get the revised pattern, but even then, I had a devil of a time putting it together! I've done lots of pp but this was HARD! But I finally got it, and here it is!
