Sandpat... if your favorite part is the quilting, any suggestions?? I dont mind actually doing it, but figuring out what to do is still very new to me. I finished my 'heritage quilt' top at the end of 2007, just a couple of weeks before my Mom died. It is so special to me that it has sat there for over 3 years... of course it was also waiting for the awesome fabric I found for the back. I had picked out a coordinating music piece - an allover orchestra fabric. My Dad was an opera composer, so music was very rich in our lives. But more so, he was a very charismatic man who lived every day reflecting his faith with an open ear and heart to everyone. Recently I found a fabric that has borders of musical instruments and sayings "raise your voice" "play your song" "listen with your heart" - this last one in particular Dad always used to say. He died shortly before my 15th birthday and after that Mom carried the saying on. So I guess I was waiting for this perfect fabric to sandwich this quilt together!! Now to the quilting... again ... suggestions??
Hmmm...I'm assuming that you are asking specifically about the Heritage quilt. It is lovely! I don't know what type of quilting you like to do...but if I were doing it, I would SITD around the "stars" to pop them out and then I would do some Freehand feather squares in the "hourglass" blocks to totally fill them up. I would do a triangular feather design in the outside border in the light areas and SITD in the dark areas. But....thats just a quick suggestion. You have had lots of time to consider and might have some really great ideas that are different though. Hmmm...maybe a design created from a treble symbol for the inner big open block areas??...Hmmm...I'll think
