IF i can find it I use a batting called Warm Bond. It is made by Warm and Natural and it is WONDERFUL! The quilt layers stay together. I lay out my backing wrong side up and pin it to my carpet. (Taunt but not too taunt!) I spread the Warm Bond batting over the backing smoothing with my hands. Place the quilt top over the batting and again smoothing with my hands. Works like a charm!!! I quilt it on my regular sewing machine and I wrestle it around quite a bit. No spray, no pins!! The only problem is finding the batting. I occasionally find it at Joann's and I buy all they have. Both times I found it at an ETC store. Maybe if we all ask for it, they will make it more available.
