When I was veggie a few years ago, it was a protest against intensive farming methods. Now I'm happy that we eat meat that we've either reared ourselves or that Hans has shot; I know everyone doesn't have the opportunity to live like this, or the inclination but I'm happy that I can eat meat - which I love - but not sacrifice my principles. My kids are growing up thinking it's normal and it's great that they see where their food comes from. They didn't actually see the pigs being killed - they were at school - but were home in time to see the carcasses being split. They were just interested - not upset or grossed out at all!
