I have sewn forever so I thought jumping in and making a quilt was "no problem", didn't quite work out like that. Nothing went together like I thought they should it was so much more than I had expected. I can only suggest practice. But what will help is like one stated Ellen Burns but go to You Tube and you can have lots of help. Mousuri(sp) quilt everyone here with all the help is amazing. Lots of Tutorials tha will help. Triangles are difficult becuse they stretch. Points are difficult in so many way but lots of tricks to help. Each type of quilting is interesting that doesn't mean it is for you. Don't be hard on yourself. Each mistake is a learning point either you say you can do better or say maybe this is just isn't for you. Just keep in there and you will be amazed.
