Lawn...what is this thing??:). We live on the crest of a hill so there are only a few flat bits on our property. We do have a little path of lawn near the front gate, but the rest is big garden beds with shrubs, fruit trees and sand tracks between (I am planning on deep sawdust paths this year, to keep the sand/dust down). We have been in drought, what seems like forever. Last summer (it is winter here now), we lost a few plants/trees, some natives, which was pretty disheartening. We hand water and I bucket water on to the garden using rinse water from the washing machine. Hard work, but I can't bear to see the garden die. We have several bird baths and some smaller containers on the ground for the lizards and anything small that needs a drink. It's been raining for a few days, quite heavily, so we pray it will continue.
