I feel bad for your husband and dog!!! I was out cutting wood after my husband had died. (I was alone.) I went to work on an old log pile, and apparently disturbed a nest of some kind of bee in the pile. I did not know that they built nest in the ground either, at that time. I didn't stop to think about it, but ran into the house immediately and slammed the door. I managed to get away with only 3 stings, but they were following me. Thank God I wasn't allergic, as the house was a ways away from town. I know you will take good care of your husband and dog. I hate bees!!!
