When I posted pictures of one of my quilts on the thread "A quilt made on a vintage Singer" DonnaC and quiltmouse both said they would like to see a Youtube video of piecing on a hand machine...

Today we did it! My husband set the camera up on the tripod and I got to work on some 2 inch strips. The camera was set so that it was where my eyes would normally be. To film the action, I was standing with my feet on either side of the tripod, my head to the right of it, and each arm coming round either side of the camera. The right hand got on with turning the handle while the left hand did the work....

Not the quickest and most comfortable way to sew, but the video got made! The video is "How to use a Seam Guide on a Vintage Sewing Machine" and is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC3ExHIDvKg

Let me know what you think....

Camera in position - I only knocked it once!

Not exactly sitting comfortably...

...but the camera was in my usual place and I had to look past it!
