My daughter passed away a few years ago and I promised her daughter I would make a quilt from her mom's clothes. My problem is they are mostly double knits. There are two dresses that were cotton but the rest is the double knits, I don't know if they would make good quilting material. I have pretty much decided to just use the two dresses and incorporate new material also. What design could I use. I am a newby so I am not "great" at quilting yet! Since they are used dresses, can I just starch them before I sew them or should I do something else.
