No - there is no backing. If you will read all of the postings on this thread, you'll find a video that explains how to do this. I've also posted several pictures you can follow. Good luck.

Not exactly sure what you mean. The top is pieced and then you add the batting & back just like most other quilts. This is a method of piecing that you can find in the pictures and in the wonderful video that someone else suggested. Check back on the postings and you'll get the idea.
