I have a book Crosspatch by Pepper Cory....it is a book of blocks combined into a quilt...if you play on graph paper,(or on the computer if you have a program to do that) you could come up with similar quilts...just find 2 blocks that have similar proportions...9 patches, 16 patches, etc, and see what happens when you alternate the blocks.
