Have you looked at any utube videos? Sometimes you can find what you need doing a search.
I have a GQ but it's at my studio so undortuantley I can't give you any particulars now.
Are you making sure you are threading it with the foot in the up position?
I only use the Inspira needles and King Tut thread.
Also, make sure you aren't sewing too fast - I tend to break thread when I start whizzing through a quilt too quickly.
