I've been a garment sewer since a kid (made my own wedding dress and burned out for 3 years afterwards), but have just started quilting since the spring. So far I've finished a crib quilt top I made 6 years ago, and sewed a queen size for our bed and a smaller one for my parents. All simple designs since I'm still struggling with the accurate 1/4" seam.

I live in the East Bay and have two young high-energy girls that love to do all sorts of arts and crafts. My eldest (7) just finished her first quilt and is bugging me about finishing the quilt for her bed. Getting her to sew a straight seam allowance is difficult, however.

I also enjoy knitting, scrapbooking, trying recipes from Cooks Illustrated, and being a servant to a chocolate labrador. When I have time I try to jog and swim.
