My Mom (years ago) used to make wool comforters for our beds in the winter time. She just sewed blocks together and of course used the old cotton batting. Don't remember what she used for backing. Then tied them. We didn't have heat in our houses when I was growing up except for wood stoves. And lots of times our bedrooms were upstairs so no heat there. Those woolen comforters sure did feel good over us. We would warm a brick and wrap it in a towel to put at our feet. In Oklahoma some nights could be pretty cold. So if you live where you have cold nights you might enjoy a wool comforter!
