Oh yes, this is a pineapple block. This is an easy and fun block to paper piece, just time consuming. Usually pineapple blocks have a red center, but I've seen them without...you'll want to number each square in the order to sew them, starting with the innermost square which will be number one. Here's a couple pictures of some of mine that I've made...I think you can even see the numbering enough on my paper templates for you to number yours.
