I am 65 years old and have been quilting about a year and a half. Joined a quilting guild where we make quilts for charity for local hospitals. I joined the guild and felt so intimidated because I had never quilted, but the ladies have been great to help.
I have sewn since my early twenties, making baby clothes and children clothes, heirloom sewing, smocking, can't imagine why I never started quilting.

I also started playing golf last year so I could play with my husband, let me tell you, I am better at sewing than playing golf  , but I guess I said all of that to say, you are never to old to learn. Wish I had started quilting years ago.
