I will own up and say I don't use coasters of any kind usually. I am always afraid they will make things more likely to topple over. If someone were making me a small quilted gift I would prefer a mat for my melamine tray, to be used to stop a plate from sliding off for breakfast in bed (rare) or dinner in front of the TV (all too common)
