Thank you all for your input. I think I'm going back to Leah Day and Patsy Thompson and check out their spirals and swirls. Most of you think I need curved movement to offset the straight lines and I think you're right. I'm still undecided on thread color - I'm not sure what you mean by blend the thread - varigated?
