I have some lovely fabric pinecone ornaments that a co-worker made. She used folded pieces of fabric and either pinned or glued the pieces together. She made these back in the 90's and her idea came from a craft magazine.
Another idea is to use liquid starch on a cut piece of fabric that looks like a patchwork angel, tree, Santa, etc. Whatever you choose, you will have fun.
